Ackley Bridge

Watch series 4 on Channel 4 from April 19, 2021

With its feet firmly planted in multicultural Yorkshire, Ackley Bridge is Channel 4’s laugh-out-loud school drama set in a small Yorkshire mill town. The production team returned to Halifax to shoot series four, which is airing in April 2021. Numerous locations were filmed to depict the fictional town of Ackley Bridge, whose school plays a central role in efforts to unite the divided white and Asian communities. Additional filming locations in Leeds and Bradford are also used throughout the series and in season four, one of the party scenes is shot at Keighley’s heritage Dalton Mills. Close-to-the-knuckles humour mixes with highly emotional drama in this TV series to create a searing vision of West Yorkshire. The series has been produced with investment from Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund.

It’s been a real pleasure making 'Ackley Bridge' in Yorkshire for another series. The locations give the show an incredibly strong sense of place for our fictional town, the community is welcoming, and the crews are great. We very much hope to be back.
