Originally opened in 1900 and now part of the Double Tree by Hilton group, this grand hotel was built to capitalise on huge demand for Harrogate’s therapeutic waters. The Majestic remains one of the town’s most elegant examples of late Victorian architecture, set within eight acres of expansive grounds and gardens in central Harrogate. Inspired by its opulent heritage, producers chose the hotel as a filming location for the fourth series of Kay Mellor’s The Syndicate, which is available to watch on BBC iPlayer now.
Having been refurbished in 2019, the Majestic is now restored to its former glory, and then some. The addition of a Champagne Bar & Grill to sit alongside its existing piano bar makes it a glamorous destination for a traditional Yorkshire cream tea. In keeping with Harrogate’s 300-year spa heritage, the hotel is also home to a luxury spa.
